Hello, everyone! This is Danielle once again coming back to shine some more positivity onto you from the furry community. We have another special feature for you this week!
Before we put the spotlight on this week’s feature, I wish to remind all of you that we’re still looking to recruit more hosts for this segment. Turn your canine or feline fursonas/characters into a convention badge with this free art opportunity by ChocoFlakey!
ChocoFlakey is offering to turn your canine and feline characters or fursonas into a cute convention badge for free to those who can’t afford buying commissions.
“Furry products in general are expensive, and some people can’t afford them. It’s always good to get art of your sona. Receiving art as a gift has made my day too many times, so I’m hoping that [the] people who I gift art to feel the same.” ChocoFlakey explains.
ChocoFlakey will continue to do these until they feel burnt out, so if you’d like a chance at free art, you can comment a canine or feline reference on this post. Be sure to follow them if you aren’t already and to repost that post in order to participate.
Thank you for your generosity, ChocoFlakey! I hope you enjoy making them.
⊱───⊰✯⊱───⊰

ART CORNER
Hey there readers! Name’s Horsesnoot, but ya’ll can call me Pony. (There's a difference? Yeah. Do I mind? No, not really.) Before we dive in, keep in mind we’re looking for segment hosts to help us feature the talented artists in the fandom as best we can. If that sounds like fun, please reach out to Yeshua or Carkas about co-hosting this segment!
UNTITLED BY DUNKINTHEDOBIE
A liberty piece of DunkinTheDobie, featuring a sable-patterned (species) in comfortable attire and cooling a warm drink to enjoy backed in warm lighting and patterns.
The illustration pieces a calm atmosphere in the simplicity of a calm moment. Diffusing shading, softening edges and smoothing subtle add-ons that keep you marveling. Always more to find as you view, a comfort I find marvelous.
⊱───⊰✯⊱───⊰
UNTITLED BY LOULOOUS
A cheery piece illustrated by Louloous! Lovingly detailed, and subtly gradiented, a small scene telling a get-together with a friend. From the fluffy detailing to gentle feathering, it is a challenging piece to achieve! Particularly because of the outfits! There’s a lot to appreciate about the dresses, complemented tremendously by the shoes and the hair accessories! While not as detailed since they are in the background, the clothes stand behind the characters also shows more cute clothes! Along with the characters’ expressions and poses, the cute factor goes through the roof because of the phenomenal attention to detail on the outfits. The artist created a fantastic commission between two characters enjoying the day together. Excellent work Louloous!
⊱───⊰✯⊱───⊰
UNTITLED BY DEW
This is such a cute piece by Dew! It’s a simple, flat-colored piece that shines the most because of its charm. The character is in an interesting sitting pose, paws on her chin, and visibly smiling and looking to the side, all elements executed nicely! What could she be looking at? She looks mellow, and even a bit playful, and you can’t help but just smile because of her demeanor! While the expression and pose give the character a lot of personality and life, the coloring is still great, finishing the piece nicely. The simple design of the clothes allow the character’s markings and colors stand out well, and I gotta say, it’s a cool design! Pink and green is not a combination that’s seen all that often, and it fits this tiger well! Well done, Dew! Keep making great art!
⊱───⊰✯⊱───⊰
Thanks for checking out today’s featured art pieces! Huge thanks to the artists for sharing their work; be sure to give them a follow if you liked what you saw from them! In case you missed it, each artist’s link is in their review above!
If you want your artwork to be featured here, you can send me or my co-host Purple, a message! You can also email us at furryweeklysubmissions@gmail.com or fill out our form to send us your art! Thanks for reading!

FURSUIT FOCUS
Welcome back to Fursuit Focus everyone! I’m Yeshua, and I’m happy to be able to bring you another segment! I do want to remind you all that I’m doing my best to fill in on this segment since we don’t have a permanent host for it, so I’m truly grateful for your patience with this section and the whole magazine while we get some more help putting it together each week! As for Fursuit Focus, if you like fursuits and think you may like writing about them, you could be the next host of this segment! Reach out to me if you’re interested!
SumDingo is the fluffy individual we’re meeting today!
As you can probably tell from what he goes by, this canine is a dingo! It’s not a species that’s seen terribly often around the fandom, but is right at home with the many canines you can find. Just look at him! That’s the face of a certified doggo and good boy! Speaking of looking at him, Dingo’s design is relatively simple, but hard to miss! With bright orange fur covering most of his body, you’ll be able to easily pick him out in a crowd! Complementing the orange nicely are several small, dark blue features, including the paws, claws, hair, and markings! Overall, Dingo looks like a proper cartoon dog who likes to have fun, and maybe get into some mischief! Made by Cascade Creatures, this is a fantastic toony canine fursuit!
Dingo loves to let loose while fursuiting! All he wants to do is have fun, and will sometimes even lean toward causing a bit of chaos, and what better way to do that than with friends? Regardless of what shenanigans he gets up to in fursuit, he says that he enjoys it the most when he’s with friends! To add to that, Dingo especially likes to fursuit in public, saying he loves when others get the same enjoyment he gets from his character!
Most of what you’ll see from Dingo is precisely public suiting, whether he’s posing for a photo by himself, or with other fursuiters! Dingo also says that wherever he and his friends go, they use the environment to their advantage to get some neat photos and videos! Some of his favorite places to go are arcades (same here!), and large events in general, like Renaissance Fairs and of course, furry conventions and meets! No matter what he’s doing though, you can tell he’s having a lot of fun!
The road to fursuiting for Dingo has been long, but quite meaningful. He knew he wanted a fursuit since he made his character, but finances made that a difficult goal at the time. Once he became independent though, he made sure to take his time researching makers, and saving up so that he could comfortably afford a fursuit when the time was right. Finally, he found a maker that fit his budget and had a style he loved, and in 2024 he got his suit! The day he got it, no doubt a very special one:
“I had my boi delivered to the hotel at Megaplex 2024 in August the second day of the con. It was my first con and first fursuiting experience. To this day that is the most joy I have ever experienced in my life. Made amazing memories and friends that will last a lifetime.”
Speaking of memories, it’s not surprising to hear that along with getting his fursuit, Megaplex 2024 also holds Dingo’s favorite memory in the fandom so far. Dingo had an open spot in his room that he offered to one of his friends, but that friend had someone else who needed a room, so Dingo agreed to share it with that other person. On the first day of the convention, they had to rush to get registered, and, I think I’ll let Dingo explain how that experience went:
“... once we threw all of our stuff in the hotel room we had five minutes before registration closed and we would have to wait until the following day. We exchanged names and said hello super quick, and then tag team ran down so many flights of stairs and across the entire convention center to make it just in the nick of time, to this day he is one of my best friends!”
Sure, it’s not exactly a fursuiting memory, but I think it’s neat to hear how a simple memory like this can mean a lot to someone! Dingo not only got to jump into the fursuiting scene at Megaplex 2024, but he got an unexpected best friend out of it, which is awesome!
As of writing this, it’s been less than a year since Dingo got his fursuit, but despite this short time, he’s gone all in on the fursuiting scene, discovering what he loves to do, and he’s only getting started! One of the biggest things he wants to do while fursuiting is go ice skating, since he used to play hockey! Along with that, given how much he loves fursuiting in public, he’s also always looking for new and interesting areas to go out and be a big fluffy cartoon dog!
And again, although Dingo hasn’t been fursuiting for too long, it has a special place in his heart. I’ll let him close out the segment with his feelings on why fursuiting is so meaningful to him:
”Fursuiting for me has always been very rejuvenating and gives me so much confidence, I love the feeling of taking off the suit after a long adventure and feeling reborn haha. This fandom definitely saved my life and has given me so many friends and experiences I will always be grateful for.”
⊱────⊰✯⊱────⊰
That’s gonna do it for this edition of Fursuit Focus! Thanks for reading, and definitely follow SumDingo if you want a good dose of fun, fursuiting shenanigans with a big orange doggo!
I’m always watching out for other fluffy individuals to show off here, so if you’re a fursuiter and you want to be on this segment, or maybe you want to see us highlight a certain fursuiter, reach out to me or preferably – you can email us at furryweeklysubmissions@gmail.com! We also have a Submissions Form you can fill out if you’d rather do that!
Thanks so much if you’ve read this far. I hope to have more fursuiters to share with you soon, but until then, take care!

SPECIES SPOTLIGHT
Hello species fanatics, and welcome back to an exciting week of Species Spotlight! This is Danielle making a return as a guest host.
This week, we will be taking a look at an avian species called Bix by RoomsInTheWalls!
Bix are a flightless, fae-like avian species that love to dance and eat eggs. They will eat a whole array of foods, but nothing will ever be more tasty than eggs. Like most fae, iron wards them away, burning them if they touch it. Despite having multiple wings, Bix are flightless unless they are in their dreaded dire form. Their dire form is more monstrous than their normal form and are usually a lot bigger, gangly, and/or twisted. Bix are a lot stronger in these forms as well and can be caused by triggers such as anger or by being upset.
Bix have both human-like and bird-like characteristics. Their posturing is upright, but their size can vary greatly from that of a gray squirrel to an average human being. Their sizes vary quite a lot because of their magical ability to shape-change themselves to appear larger or smaller for their personal whims.
For a closer look at the physical characteristics shown below, click here to be taken to the Bix Google Drive folder.
Bix are cheeky fae pranksters. They don’t just use their forms to frighten or to threaten. They use their abilities more for entertainment and for foraging and gathering. A larger Bix may carry heavier materials with them and scare off predators easier. Smaller Bix may pretend to be small game, having the advantage of climbing up trees and claiming their most favorite prize of all: unguarded bird eggs.
One of the most important and notable behaviors in Bix is their communication through dance. Many Bix dance around to show friendship, affection, courtship, and even dominance. Types of dance vary per individual, mimicking even dances from humans that they’ve taken a liking to. Bix may be befriended by humans and others through being shown new dances, bested, or even beaten in competitive dance.
Along with dancing, Bix also have an affinity to music and will often craft instruments out of materials they find or happen to steal. It is not uncommon to hear music wherever there is a community of Bix or where there is music playing. These communities can consist of family members and friends, but Bix may also prefer to live solitary lives depending on the individual or if they are more prone to turning into Dire Bix and would rather not get too agitated. A Bix may also find it to be best to hang out with humans or others that aren’t Bix, finding them more interesting or fun to be around by either being helpful or otherwise a bit of a nuisance to their new “friend”.
Bix will create messy nests for themselves and their found items, stashing away treats, lost jewelry, and other things left out that were unattended. They may also take items that are being set down by humans such as a phone or set of keys and relocate the items just to laugh and watch the confusion unfold. They may try to barter for something else they want with the stolen goods such as a food item or being shown a new dance or song.
Bix are an open species, which means you’re welcome to create your own. As a reminder, please be sure to credit RoomsInTheWalls for the species.
Looking to create your own Bix? You can find this free to use customizable base by RoomsInTheWalls here.
If you have any questions regarding the species, feel free to reach out to them on any platform linked on their Linktree.

Thank you for tuning in to this week of Species Spotlight! I hope you enjoyed learning about the Bix. There are plenty of creative original species out there, and we’ll be sure to hunt them down.
Ready for us to explore your original species? Feel free to fill out this form if interested. You can also submit content by emailing furryweeklysubmissions@gmail.com.
As Coyote Peterson from Brave Wilderness says, stay wild, and we’ll see you on the next species adventure!

STREAMER HIGHLIGHT
Hello everyone! It's Jaden and welcome to our brand new segment called Streamer Highlight! A segment where we get to show off some amazing live streamers in the furry community! Today for our very special guest we have NorfDog, a gaming streamer! Let’s get to know him!
Could you explain to our readers a little bit about yourself and what you stream?
Hello, readers! My name is Norfair, but most people call me Norf for short. My Twitch channel is called Norfdog so a lot of people go with that too!
I have been streaming video game content full-time on Twitch since July 2020, around a point where a LOT of people were trying out streaming for the first time since so many people were in lockdown and out of work.
I stream every single day, and love being able to provide a distraction from all the stress of everyday life and put smiles on peoples' faces. I've met my closest friends through streaming, and even met my boyfriend of 2 years on Twitch! So, I owe a lot in my life to taking that chance of going live and sticking with it for these past years.
I am a variety streamer, meaning I play a little of everything! My main game currently is Fortnite. I played it one time on stream as a joke years ago; ended up getting hooked and now it is my favorite thing to play!
I also love speedrunning games. If I ever play through a game for the first time, my very first thought when finishing it is "Ok, what's the speedrun look like?" and then I'll search up the world record and see how fast it can be done and possibly take a chance at running it myself. I've had quite a few world records in speedrunning, most notably in a ghost-hunting game called Phasmophobia.
Aside from speedrunning, I love indie games, weird games, and any multiplayer games that I can get my friends in on!
Did you have any specific inspirations that got you into streaming? Were there any content creators that made you decide to give it a shot yourself?
Before I started streaming myself, I loved watching Let's Players on YouTube. "Let's Players" being people that upload casual gameplay onto their YouTube channels, usually in a non-live format. Some of my big inspirations back then were Syndicate and Dashie, both of whom are still making content online. Syndicate doesn't do gaming as much these days, but Dashie is still a favorite of mine. He's been doing his thing for over 10 years at this point, dude has never stopped grinding. Seeing creators being goofy and having fun with their gaming content resonated a lot with me, especially since I have more online friends than people I would see in person every day, so being able to connect with people all over the world through something as unifying as online gaming sparked a huge interest in me. Streaming is also unbelievably accessible to just about anyone. Anybody with a phone can go live and start up their own community, so that accessibility played a HUGE part in wanting to try it out myself.
In the furry streamer space I have so many inspirations. When I first got familiar with Twitch, Whiskey Dingo was THE furry streamer and played a big part in me wanting to give streaming a go myself.
Nowadays, I get a lot of inspiration from friends like Neon Woof, Reef Ruff, SkaiFox, and MaxFluffy just to name a few!
Also I am always watching streamers like IShowSpeed, Kai Cenat, and Caseoh. A lot of the newer games I play aren't on my radar until I see someone big playing them, and the content of those 3 in particular is always top tier. If I am not streaming myself, I am probably watching one of them.
Could you tell me a little bit about how you or your content has evolved throughout your time on Twitch?
I used to want to be an IRL streamer. IRL streamers are people who walk around in public streaming from their phone, kind of vlog-style, and just broadcast whatever goes on throughout their day and hope something interesting happens. My very first stream wasn't even on Twitch, it was on YouTube. Me and some friends went to a local restaurant that had a "Milkshake Challenge" and I was determined to beat the challenge live on stream. The challenge was to drink 5 huge milkshakes in 30 minutes. If you can finish them, you get your name on the wall and a free shirt, and don't have to pay for the milkshakes. I did NOT complete the challenge. I got through 2 milkshakes before my stomach just couldn't take any more. I mean these milkshakes were THICK and would just sit in your stomach like a rock. I was close to puking by the time I called it quits. The stream itself was awful. My phone kept dropping the connection and it was unwatchable. I think maybe 5 people tuned into that stream, but I loved it and it just made me want to keep streaming more.
I tried doing more IRL content on YouTube, doing everyday things like walking to get coffee, or going shopping at IKEA. I constantly had the issue of my phone losing connection though, since I had to rely on mobile data instead of wifi. After a handful of failed attempts at IRL streams, that's when I decided to try something new: Gaming on Twitch.
My first interest when I started doing gaming streams was playing old school games. I loved my Super Nintendo growing up, so games like Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, and Super Metroid were at the very top of my list of games to play.
However, a game's replayability is huge for figuring out what I want to stream. I love games that I can get a lot of hours out of and play through multiple times, so after I ran through my favorite Super Nintendo games I had to start thinking "What next?" There's only so many times I can save Princess Peach before it'll become boring to watch.
That's when I started moving onto online multiplayer games, like Fall Guys and Among Us, both of which had just gotten huge in late 2020. The replayability of those games was great for streaming for hours and hours. You lose a game, you just queue into another one and something new can happen. I still love both of those to this day, I just wish it was easier to get a big group together to play things like that! I currently stream more online multiplayer games than anything.
Like I mentioned earlier, I love speedrunning games. I used to be an Undertale speedrunner, I was top 5 on the Five Nights At Freddy's speedrun leaderboard, I had a bunch of world records in Phasmophobia but those runs are mostly obsolete or broken now. I am a former world record holder in some weird indie titles like Make Good Choices and Unolingo. I believe currently the only world record I have is for a game called Blood Maniac by Puppet Combo. I love speedrunning games and optimizing routes. Figuring out how to get through games quickly is so satisfying to me. Even if I am not the fastest in the world, it is still fun to do and it can be very entertaining to watch.
Here and there I have done some really fun non-gaming streams. One time I did a Tinder stream, where I made a Tinder profile, shared my phone's screen with my chat, and tried to secure a Thanksgiving date with people using only fursuit pictures. It worked by the way! I think the video is still on my YouTube channel. I also do an annual stream every December called the "Norfy Awards" where my friends and I just goof off and give out weird awards to our community. It's a huge production every year and I love putting it together. We have special guests, a halftime show, and just get to have a night of off-the-wall fun.
I try to do a little bit of everything!
Do you have any favorite memories from streaming? I imagine meeting your boyfriend would definitely be up there, but anything from your community? Maybe a memory from your Norfy awards?
Definitely meeting my boyfriend, Automata, is the best thing that has come from my streaming. He is incredibly supportive, and has also saved the stream more times than I can count. When something technical goes wrong, he always knows exactly how to fix it. I probably wouldn't be streaming currently if not for him.
With the Norfy Awards, it is really hard to pick any single stand-out moment because the entire event is really a stand-out moment. We get the entire community involved and make it a really big show that normally lasts for 2-3 hours, and then afterward we all have an after party in our community Discord server and just chill for the night.
Another event that stands out has gotta be my 4-year streaming anniversary which happened in July last year. Automata and I planned a special 48 hour subathon, complete with two nights of sleep streams. Sleep streams are where you have a camera pointed at you, and you just sleep on camera. It sounds boring, like who would want to watch someone sleep? But the fun part is, when viewers would donate to the stream while I was asleep, they could play really loud noises, music, jump scares, and other things to try and wake me up. I did not sleep very well for those 2 nights.
I wish I could talk about some new things I have planned for this year, but I'll just say we have some really cool moments coming.
Could you tell me what you hope to give to the furry and Twitch community with your streams?
Lots of really cool things are coming up this year! This year will be my 5-year anniversary of streaming, so I plan on doing something big for that! For everything else, just stay tapped in and you'll hear things very very soon!
As far as what I hope to give to the furry and Twitch community through my streams - I ultimately just want my streams to be a welcoming place where people can relax and find comfort. So far, I think we are doing a great job at that!
Something that I have heard from quite a few people is that they have a hard time finding new friends in the fandom. Some people just don't have the social skills to be outgoing when it comes to that sort of thing. To those people, I have always said: Find a community on Twitch. Just find a streamer you enjoy watching and can relate to and say hello in their chat. That's how it starts. All of my best friends were people who took that step and said hello in my chat, and I am so glad they did.
If you feel alone and don't feel like you have any friends, please come by and share your story with me. You don't have to be alone; we have a great community waiting for you with open arms!
⊱───⊰✯⊱───⊰
And that was my amazing interview with Norfair! Norfair’s streams were so amazing to watch with a super active and welcoming community in that chat, and of course our star himself was incredibly entertaining and engaging with his chat and his gameplay. As you heard, Norfair has a lot of big and exciting secrets coming soon that he can't share yet, so be sure to follow him on his Twitch here and socials here to stay in the loop and watch his streams!
We’re excited to get this segment going, and we’re still working out whether this will be a bi-weekly or monthly segment, but while we sort this out, if you’re a furry streamer, or have a favorite furry streamer you want to see on the magazine, reach out to me and let me know! You can also fill out our form with your suggestion, or email us at furryweeklysubmissions@gmail.com if you prefer!

CONVENTION CALENDAR
Hi everyone! It’s Yeshua here to bring you the Convention Calendar segment for the month of March! Going to furry events is always a pretty exciting time, so we want to bring you info about some of the biggest ones we can find! Before we start though, we are looking for a new host for this segment, so if you like checking out furry events happening all over the world, this could be for you! Just reach out to me or Carkas if you’re interested in writing this segment each month.
⊱───⊰✯⊱───⊰
Kicking off March is Vancoufur 2025! As you may imagine, it’s happening in Vancouver, Canada, specifically at the Richmond Convention Centre from March 6-9. The theme this year is Tales of Treasure, so expect a lot of pirate-themed adventures and fun! Vancoufur has all the common staples of a furry convention including a Dealers Den and Artists Alley, dance competition, and fursuit parade, but other big events to look forward to include the murder mystery, nightly dances, a fursuit maid cafe, and much more! Plus, that doesn’t even cover all the panels and smaller events planned for the convention. Be sure to check out the full schedule to see what else there will be! It is worth noting that since Vancoufur is only five days out from when this is written – you will have to buy tickets at the door if you plan on going and did not pre-register. According to the convention’s website, the all-days-pass is $120 which will get you in all days. You also have the choice of buying a one day pass, with prices varying from $60 to $85 depending on the day. If you can’t make it in person, you can also consider Vancoufur’s digital option for attending online!

On the complete opposite side of North America, Bewhiskered 2025 is happening in Durham, North Carolina! You’ll be taking a trip back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth with the theme Prehistoria! From March 7-9, the Sheraton Imperial Hotel will play host to this east coast convention that’s gaining a lot of traction! Bewhiskered also boasts the usual Dealers Den and Artists Alley, dance competitions, DJs, a fursuit parade, and even a scavenger hunt! There are also a bunch of different events, from species-specific meets, to fursuiting events, art panels and games, and so much more! The Bewhiskered website even has a section separating a lot of the programming by these categories, which will definitely be helpful to find events you may like! Also because of how close Bewhiskered is from the time of writing this, pre-registration is closed, so if you want to go, you will need to register on-site.

Staying along the east coast of the United States, Fur the ‘More is taking place at the same time as Bewhiskered, but at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport! Get ready for an early taste of summer with the Beach Vacation! theme at FTM! Along with the marketplace and Artists Alley, you’ll have the chance to attend several kinds of panels, meets, as well as participate in things like escape rooms, games, and a whole lot more. There’s too much to cover here so be sure to check out Fur the More’s full schedule! If you haven’t already registered, please note that according to the convention’s website, online registration only went through January 31, and while there are prices for registering at the door, it may be limited if the attendance cap is met. It’s not clear what that limit is, so it’s probably a good idea to contact the convention to get info about whether on-site registration will be available.

We’re staying deep in North America, but we’re going back to Canada for Furnal Equinox happening from March 21-23 at the Westin Harbour Castle in downtown Toronto! We hope you’re ready to bring along some scary energy because the theme is Monsters in Toronto, which you’ll definitely notice in some of the programming! FE has a really good mix of panels and events that are either furry-specific, interest-specific, or a mix of both! So just like with the others, it’s highly recommended that you read up on the full schedule! You’re sure to find at least a few events that will interest you! Some of the bigger plans for the convention include a masquerade, the dance competition, DJ performances, and “Pas Le Choix de Danser” – which is like floor wars at other conventions! As of writing this, it seems like you can still register online for $90 to access the convention the entire weekend, but there will be day passes available, although the convention stresses that these may be limited. Regardless of when you read this, if you haven’t registered, be sure to check out the latest information about registering for Furnal Equinox!

It’s time to travel across the world for the next convention: Thaitails! This well-known furry event in Asia is taking place at the Grand Richmond Hotel in Nonthaburi, Thailand from March 22-23! Be sure to show off your best looks, because Thaitails is hosting “The grandest gala of the century!” in what promises to be two days full of elegant, furry fun! Some of the main attractions will be the Dealers Den, the talent show, and a DJ party, along with several panels! A schedule, or list of panels is not available as of writing this, so be sure to check back closer to the convention to see if there are any updates. It seems like registration is still available as of early March, with standard registration for the two days costing 960 Thai Bahts, which is roughly $27 U.S. dollars. Be sure to contact the convention if you have any questions about attending by sending an email to contact@thaitails.net.

FURRY QUOTE
Howdy, all! Tide again. I’ve been thinking about what success means lately. How can I live a successful life? Does success mean monetary wealth? Emotional wealth? As I was pondering these questions and how to steer towards my future I came upon a lovely quote from Albert Einstein, and it turned out to be one of those messages that came at the right time.
”Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.”
I once told a friend how much I make as a researcher and his response was, “Why don’t you just do investment banking?” My reply was quite simply, “Because I want to be happy”. Whether I realized it or not, subconsciously I have long understood what Einstein was talking about here. If all you ever pursue is “success” you will neglect finding value in life, in your connections to others, and in yourself. Making yourself have value is not about being the best at something or richest or anything along those lines. Being of value to others is all about kindness, about taking genuine interest in the hobbies and wellbeing of others. By striving to be of value and not just a success, you ensure that you surround yourself with people who genuinely care about you, you make deeper connections rather than the shallow connections of people whose coattails you are trying to ride or vice versa. Being a success is great, if that’s what gives you purpose in life, if that’s what makes you happy, all the better for you. But often success is this intangible thing, you have this goal set to define your success, and when you reach it, you forget to look back and say, “wow, look how far I’ve come” and instead end up feeling lost or as though you are still not good enough. I truly agree with Einstein that striving to be of value is a better way to live. Not only for your own well being, but for the betterment of the world as a whole.
We live in a world where people want to be successful, as much as it may no longer be a plausible thing, the “American Dream” is a prime example of this. Living in such a world where we pursue only our own success, not only sets us up to harm others and the world around us, but to isolate us and make us unhappy. Of course there are ways to live the American dream without such a scenario, but in an age of pandemics and climate change, poverty and starvation, I think a better way forward is to live by making yourself of value. Lift yourself up by lifting everyone up. We don’t have to live so divided. Living divided in such an interconnected world is a recipe for disaster. So don’t just pursue success. Pursue value.
⊱────⊰✯⊱────⊰
That’s it for this week’s Furry Quote. Now that you’re all caught up, make a list of the ways you are of value to others. Are you happy with this list? What could you do differently? I hope thinking about these questions helps to enrich your life.
Do you have a quote or topic you’d like us to discuss next? Feel free to submit content by emailing furryweeklysubmissions@gmail.com, or you can directly message me on Instagram.
Thanks for stopping by, and until next time.
